Billy Van is a young producer from Indiana University actively pursuing a career in the music industry. His small operation has expanded from a portable 8 track recorder into a functional studio, and he is currently producing and composing beats in several styles and genres.
In addition to his own musical aspirations, he has worked commercially and with several other artists.
He is quickly gaining popularity via the internet following his placement within the Tiesto Remix Contest, ranking in the Top 10 of the world. His remix for "Knock You Out" was listened to by one of the highest ranking DJs in history, as well as by thousands of remixers and voters.
Billy is airing a weekly video blog called "The Beatblog" where he demonstrates the fundamentals in making tracks of various genres.
In this episode, I take an older tune that I made and put some live drums on top of it. I did this all in one try cause I didnt have much time, but I thought you all would enjoy seeing how I drum, and how I made this beat.

Episode 10 Making a Techno/House Beat
In this episode I outline the essentials in making a techno/house song. Big buildups and ambient breakdowns make this club jam a real fist pumper!
With the ninth installation of "the beatblog", I show you all how I make a poppy techno kind of beat. I am working on a lot of things right now with a lot of artists, so stay tuned for some big updates!
This song was, ironically, stuck in my head. So I channeled that into a ridiculous remix of it using my accordion from back home. No copyright infringement intended
To celebrate the New Year, I remixed Auld Lang Syne, putting my own electro-rock spin on it. I got several studio upgrades, including an Axiom 61 MIDI controller and a new desktop PC, and I built myself some monitor stands.
I couldn't help myself. The Christmas season wouldn't be complete without a Billy Van Christmas PowerMix. I took old classics and put a new school electro spin on them. Complete with ugly sweatervests and turtleneck.
