Derek Holt
Major: Athletic Training
My name is Derek Wayne Holt. I grew up in a very small hick-town in southern Indiana very close to the river, and surrounded by woods. I absolutely love to hunt and fish, and play music with my band. That 1 Band is the name of the band i am a part of. I also enjoy snowboarding and playing piano.
I got my first guitar for my eight birthday, and my dad said he was going to teach me how to play it. So naturally I said, okay! He showed me three chords and left me with that. I began to read guitar chord books and get on the internet and look up how to play certain chords. Soon enough, I was on my way. I have now been playing for 11 years, and i'm not stopping here. I want to continue to get better with my music and my vocals.
I am majoring in Athletic Training at IU, and i hope to be admitted to the program this spring.
