My name is Greg Mergruen, and I play guitar. My hometown is Syosset, New York, which is a part of Long Island. The reason I came all the way out to Bloomington is because I wanted to go somewhere different and get out of the bubble. I've been playing guitar for about 6 years now and singing for about 5. I originally got started playing guitar because of classic rock. In 9th grade I was part of the radio station and my partner wanted to do a classic rock show. Since I didn't really know anything about rock music I said fine. Ever since that first show I knew that I needed to learn guitar and I've been playing ever since. Since I've been at IU, I've been playing more then ever, and I'm even teaching myself piano and taking a classical guitar class. I am a telecommunications major and a theatre minor. After college, I am hoping to write television comedies for NBC. Besides playing guitar, I also write scripts for multiple formats, but mostly television.
